The country commemorates Kashmir Solidarity Day today.

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being commemorated across today (Thursday) to demonstrate support for the Kashmiri populace advocating for their right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations (UN) resolutions.

This year, the Day is being commemorated in Pakistan and globally amidst heightened Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, which have escalated persecution and the violation of human rights to suppress the indigenous independence movement against the subjugating forces.

The purpose of commemorating the day is to engage the global community in addressing the protracted Kashmir conflict in alignment with UN resolutions.

The Kashmiri populace residing in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, and many global locations will commemorate Solidarity Day with a renewed commitment to persist in their struggle for self-determination.

The day will be a public holiday, commencing with special prayers at mosques for the advancement and prosperity of Pakistan, the eternal peace of the martyrs of Kashmir’s struggle, and the liberation of Muslim-occupied lands, particularly Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

Diverse political, educational, social, and literary organizations have organized mass demonstrations, symposia, peace walks, conferences, art exhibitions, and declamation contests in various cities to commemorate the occasion.
