The federal government permits duty-free goods into Gilgit-Baltistan through the Sost border.

With an annual quota of Rs 4 billion, the federal government has permitted Gilgit-Baltistan to import goods via the Sost border duty-and tax-free.
The Gilgit-Baltistan government must approve each shipment online, and importing businesses must be local residents. The facility can only be used within the region and is restricted to certain products. If regulations are broken, customs officials have the authority to withdraw exemptions, and a unique technology will monitor imports to guarantee adherence.
In accordance with the Federal Excise Act of 2005, the Sales Tax Act of 1990, the Customs Act of 1969, and the Income Tax Ordinance of 2001, the FBR has released new guidelines for the clearance of products at the Sost Customs Dry Port. These regulations go into effect right away and are only applicable to certain goods imported through Sost under specific PCT codes specified in the notification.
All applicable import and customs laws are still in effect.
