The Finance Minister has departed for the United States to participate in the World Bank and IMF meetings.

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has travelled to the United States today (Saturday) to attend the forthcoming meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Meetings will take place in Washington, D.C. from April 13 to 18, during which the finance minister is set to participate in over 50 significant sessions and bilateral discussions.

During the visit, Aurangzeb will engage with senior leadership from the IMF and World Bank, as well as prominent global financial leaders and policymakers. He is anticipated to engage in Pakistan-related debates at Harvard University in Boston.

The finance minister will convene discussions with representatives from international financial institutions, prominent corporations, and authorities from the United States. Discussions are scheduled with trade representative Jamieson Greer, along with officials from China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

Aurangzeb will represent Pakistan at the G-24 and climate financing conferences, while also showcasing the digital system of the Benazir Income Support Programme at World Bank sessions. Investment conferences will underscore Pakistan’s economic potential.

A designated event regarding Roshan Digital Accounts is planned in Washington. Furthermore, meetings with international rating agencies including Fitch Ratings, Moody’s, and Standard & Poor’s are scheduled.

Additionally, the finance minister will confer with think tanks such as the Atlantic Council and interact with members of the US-Pakistan Business Council and expatriate Pakistanis.

The visit is regarded as a crucial advancement in fortifying Pakistan’s economic diplomacy and augmenting worldwide partnerships.
