The government announces a program for students called Laptops for All.
In a press conference, Rana Mashhood, the chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP), unveiled the “Laptop for All” initiative, which will allow students to obtain computers from interest-free banks.
“The government was attempting to give students from banks laptops at no interest, with a decision to be made in two or three days,” stated the PMYP chairman.
The PMYP chairman clarified that although the IMF had requirements and the interim government was dealing with several financial difficulties, the “Laptops for All” program will be part of the upcoming fiscal budget.
The current government took over from the interim one last year, and because of the tight timeline for budgetary approval, pupils were not given computers, he continued.
