The government of Sindh has unveiled a comprehensive rescue plan for power consumers.
The Sindh government has proposed a comprehensive strategy to address the problems faced by the people due to increased electricity bills, in contrast to the Punjab government’s short-term power relief package.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the Sindh government had enduring remedies for the grievances of the populace.
“In lieu of offering momentary respite on electricity invoices, the Sindh government is currently formulating an all-encompassing strategy to provide advantages to the populace,” the minister appended.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the provincial government is dispersing 200,000 solar panels as a component of its effort.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that an extra 500,000 solar panels will be supplied within a month.
Prior to this, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed his response to the Punjab government’s decision to decrease energy rates for a period of two months, referring to it as a ‘peculiar’ declaration.
During a ceremony in Karachi, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed that these ‘peculiar’ pronouncements create a state of uncertainty for people. “The Sindh government is facing challenges in determining how to address these irrational remarks.” “However, I have no desire to pursue a career in politics,” he added.
The chief minister expressed curiosity on how individuals manage to allocate time for television appearances.
“I often face displeasure from my party chairman and the Sindh information minister because I do not make television appearances to showcase the progress made in the province,” stated CM Murad Ali Shah.
The chief minister inquired about the possibility of allocating time for work if he were to frequently appear on television.
Former Prime Minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif declared on August 16 a significant measure to alleviate the burden on energy consumers in Punjab, specifically targeting low-income people.
During a news conference, the leader of the PML-N said that customers who use up to 500 units of power will receive a reduction of Rs 14 per unit.
Sharif commended Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz for her commendable efforts in delivering assistance to the public. He also revealed her next initiative to implement a solar panel program, aimed at extending more relief.
Furthermore, he stated that the Punjab government has earmarked a substantial amount of Rs 700 billion for the implementation of the solar panel initiative. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the reduction of power expenses in the coming years.
The relief package entails a subsidy of Rs 14 per unit for users utilizing up to 500 units, resulting in a total expenditure of Rs 45 billion for the Punjab government.
