The Islamabad High Court has revoked the prohibition on lawyers’ gowns.

The Islamabad High Court has rescinded the mandate for lawyers to use gowns during court hearings, pursuant to directives from the Chief Justice.

An official statement from the Deputy Registrar General states that the tradition of lawyers wearing gowns would be halted until further notice. Consequently, attorneys presenting cases in court will no longer be mandated to don gowns.

The notification indicates that the decision will take effect on April 1, 2026.
