The LHC opposed the substantial increase in petroleum prices.

A petition has been submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging the recent escalation in petroleum prices.

The petition asserted that the government’s plan to increase petrol prices by Rs 55 per liter is unlawful and detrimental to the public.

It said that the raise will elevate expenses in transportation, electricity, agriculture, and critical commodities.

The petition additionally contended that oil marketing corporations possess a 15-day inventory of petroleum supplies, rendering the price hike unwarranted.

It has requested that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and the Ministry of Energy submit data of these reserves to the court.

The petitioner has requested the high court to annul the notification concerning the increase in petrol prices.
