The NCCIA advises against posting unreliable content online.

A single incorrect click or thoughtless social media post could land people in jail, according to a warning from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

Before sharing any post, news item, or link online, users are urged to confirm it, according to a significant public advisory published by the agency.

The NCCIA states that disseminating content without adequate verification is illegal and may have dire repercussions. The agency emphasized that disseminating unreliable information or misleading information is illegal, especially when it comes to state institutions and the higher judiciary.

The advise seeks to promote appropriate usage of social media platforms and increase public awareness.
