On Friday, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) executed a significant operation against tainted milk in Bahawalpur.

In this operation, the PFA confiscated a car and disposed of 5,000 litres of inferior milk immediately.

The Director General of the Punjab Food Authority stated that the operation was executed following prior surveillance. A designated roadblock was established at Main Bahawalpur Chowk, where officers apprehended vehicles delivering milk suspected of being substandard. During the examination, authorities verified extensive adulteration and promptly disposed of the dangerous milk to avert its distribution to people.

The DG PFA additionally indicated that a request for case registration has been issued to the relevant police station against the proprietor of the milk processing facility and eight suppliers implicated in the illicit conduct. The defendants were purportedly conveying thousands of liters of contaminated milk from Arifwala to Hasilpur, with the intention of distributing it to numerous small and major retail establishments, as well as tea booths across the city.

He stated that milk transport vehicles undergo daily inspections to mitigate the distribution of tainted milk in the area. He affirmed that the PFA is dedicated to ensuring food safety and safeguarding public health by preventing harmful items from entering the market.
