The PM approves a separate secretariat for the national energy strategy, which aims to make electricity easier for homes and businesses.

In order to simplify energy policy and guarantee seamless coordination between federal ministries and provincial governments, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the creation of a distinct secretariat for the Comprehensive National Energy Plan (CNEP).
According to the PM, who chaired a review meeting based on suggestions from the cabinet’s energy subcommittee, all pertinent ministries and provinces must collaborate to present a workable and feasible energy plan.
The general parameters for the wheeling charges auction were also adopted at the conference, which emphasized the importance of giving homes and businesses access to convenient and reasonably priced electricity.
Shahbaz Sharif emphasized that the strategy needs to incorporate suggestions from the Ministries of Finance, Petroleum, Industrial Production, and Climate Change. Additionally, he ordered the efficient and prompt privatization of power distribution corporations (DISCOs).
Preliminary meetings with all ministries are already in progress, according to officials, and recent changes to the electrical transmission system have already produced positive results. The meeting was attended by provincial chief secretaries, federal ministers, and other high-ranking officials.
