The president and prime minister praise the forces for their effective counterterrorism efforts in KP.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari praised security forces on Tuesday for two successful counterterrorism operations in Bajaur and Bannu districts that resulted in the killing of 23 militants associated with Fitna al-Khawarij, a terrorist organization supported by India.

President Zardari praised the security forces in a statement released by the Presidency, describing the insurgents’ defeat as “a testament to the forces’ effective strategy and unwavering professionalism.”

He underlined that the murder of multiple terrorists in Bajaur, including a significant ringleader, delivered a strong and unwavering message to all those who oppose peace.

In the Bannu Operation, the president praised the military for their “outstanding operational expertise,” pointing out that the prompt actions of security forces demonstrate the state’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability throughout Pakistan. He declared, “On Pakistani soil, there is no room for foreign-sponsored terrorism.”

In a separate statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the intelligence-based operations’ success. He added the wins were in line with the government’s larger Vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which aims to ensure long-term national stability, and acknowledged the killing of 23 militants as a noteworthy accomplishment.

The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s determination to eradicate all kinds of militancy from the country by saying, “The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism.” He continued, “We are still totally dedicated to defeating terrorism in its entirety and irrevocably.”
