The PTI delegation is scheduled to meet with NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq today.

A team from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has resolved to meet National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq today (Thursday).

A meeting of PTI leaders convened in Islamabad, chaired by Barrister Gohar, with attendance from Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser, Junaid Akbar, and others.

Sources indicated that the PTI delegation will request the issuance of a notification for the nomination of Mehmood Khan Achakzai as Leader of the Opposition during the meeting with the Speaker.

It is noteworthy that in relation to discussions between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has authorized Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, while the government team stands prepared for negotiations at the speaker’s behest.

Government sources indicate that conversations will exclusively involve elected representatives of the PTI, with no discussions permitted with unelected MPs.

Conversely, sources within the Speaker’s Office indicated that, to date, no PTI leader has officially reached out for negotiations. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has maintained the integrity of the parliamentary committee, and should the opposition consent, the speaker would promptly summon a meeting of the committee.

Parliamentary sources indicated that, notwithstanding the Speaker’s proposal, the opposition had yet to reach out to him. The Speaker has extended an invitation to PTI to convene in his chamber.
