The Punjab government increases agricultural mechanization by distributing 20,000 green tractors.

The Punjab administration, led by Maryam Nawaz, has announced significant agricultural development initiatives, including the distribution of almost 20,000 green tractors to farmers and the planned delivery of an additional 10,000 tractors.
Farmers will also have easy access to high-power tractors, wet-and-rice combine harvesters, and other contemporary agricultural equipment through the CM High-Tech Mechanization Financing Program.
Under this scheme, farmers and service providers will receive loans totaling 30 billion PKR.
Additionally, farmers have already received 5,000 rice super seeders, which cost 4 billion PKR.
By using these seeders, less crop residue will need to be burned, which will help reduce smog.
According to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, mechanization is assisting Punjabi farmers in adopting contemporary farming methods.
She underlined that agricultural mechanization will greatly boost per-acre yields and reduce production costs.
In order to increase productivity and sustainability, she pushed farmers to switch from antiquated and conventional ways to new machinery.
