The Sindh government has engaged a private audit firm to examine the Gul Plaza incident.

IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho announced that the private audit firm will investigate the causes of the fire and other pertinent factors. Subsequent measures will be implemented based on the findings. Declarations from all involved parties, including merchants, shall be documented. A police team is also probing the event, he stated.

Simultaneously, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has initiated fire safety inspections in residential and commercial structures around Karachi. The fire safety measures at 35 residential and commercial structures inside the city have been evaluated. The DG SBCA is issuing notices to relevant structures for violations in fire safety.

Notices are being disseminated to 266 structures identified in the KMC study, along with additional significant edifices. Structures will be sealed if firefighting apparatus and safety protocols are not implemented within the designated timeframe.
