The Sindh uplift projects are reviewed by the World Bank mission.

On Tuesday, MPA Qasim Soomro, the deputy mayors of Karachi, Hyderabad, and Larkana, the Secretary of Local Government, and the Deputy Project Director of CLICK attended a crucial meeting between the World Bank team and Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

The meeting examined the state of ongoing World Bank-funded development projects, including the rate of fieldwork, urban infrastructure improvement, road and drain repair, drainage system improvement, and a thorough assessment of solid waste operations.

According to Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Karachi is a megacity with numerous difficulties, but because of World Bank-assisted projects, many of which are now almost finished, development has accelerated.

He also mentioned that World Bank representatives will attend a joint meeting of Karachi’s town administrations.

In order to create an integrated and cohesive plan for the city, town chairmen will brief the forum on their performance, development initiatives, and project progress.

According to the minister, the Sindh government is strengthening all local governments, increasing authority at the town and UC levels, and modernizing digital reporting, field monitoring, and transparency mechanisms.
