The UN Security Council denounces terrorist assaults throughout Balochistan as “heinous and cowardly.”

Members of the UN Security Council have urged for the prosecution of those responsible for the recent deadly terrorist strikes in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, denouncing them “in the strongest terms.”
“This reprehensible act of terrorism resulted in the grievous loss of 48 Pakistani nationals, including 31 civilians,” including five women and three children, the 15-member Council stated in a press statement issued at UN Headquarters in New York.
According to the statement, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for these terrorist assaults, calling them “heinous and cowardly.”
James Kariuki, the current president of the Council and the UK’s Charge A’affaires, released the Council’s statement regarding the growing terrorist attacks against Pakistan.
Reiterating that terrorism in all of its forms and manifestations is one of the biggest threats to global peace and security, the statement said, “The members of the Security Council expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the Government and people of Pakistan, and wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.”
The Security Council members emphasized the necessity of prosecuting and holding accountable those responsible for these heinous acts of terrorism, including their organizers, financiers, sponsors, and perpetrators. In line with their responsibilities under international law and pertinent Security Council resolutions, they called on all States to constructively collaborate with the Government of Pakistan in this area,” the statement continued.
