The United States kills an Al Qaeda affiliate leader connected to the Syrian attack: Centcom

According to a statement released by US Central Command on Saturday, US military operations killed an Al Qaeda affiliate leader on Friday who was connected to a Daesh attack on Americans in Syria last month.

According to Central Command, Bilal Hasan Al Jasim had “direct ties” to a Daesh shooter who murdered and wounded US and Syrian forces in Palmyra, Syria, on December 13.

The chief of US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, said in a statement, “The death of a terrorist operative linked to the deaths of three Americans demonstrates our resolve in pursuing terrorists who attack our forces.”

US forces have been carrying out strikes in Syria since the December 13 incident; according to the US military, it has struck over 100 Daesh sites.

In an X post that featured Centcom’s announcement, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth declared, “We will never forget, and never relent.”
