There are currently heatwaves in a number of Pakistani districts.

The nation is continuing experiencing heatwave conditions, with the highest temperatures possible reaching 48 and 47 degrees Celsius in Turbat and Sibi in Balochistan, respectively.

According to Met Office predictions, mercury could reach 43 degrees Celsius in Lahore, 41 degrees Celsius in Peshawar, 40 degrees Celsius in Islamabad, and 37 degrees Celsius in Karachi.

In the districts of Nawabshah, Sukkur, Mohenjo-daro, and Dadu, where the maximum temperature touched 50 degrees Celsius during the current heatwave, the mercury will stay four to five degrees below that level.

Today’s high temperatures in Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, and Multan could rise above 40 degrees Celsius.

In Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted wind and dust storms; in a few locations, there may also be thunderstorms.

According to the Met Office, Karachi’s temperatures are expected to decline starting on Sunday as the current heatwave is passed.

According to the Met Office’s estimate last Wednesday, the heatwave conditions in Karachi and other parts of Sindh would remain till June 1.

The previous Tuesday had the hottest temperature ever recorded in Jacobabad, reaching 52 degrees Celsius.
