Tomorrow is the day for the annual elections of the Lahore Bar Association.

Tomorrow, the Lahore Bar Association (LBA), the biggest bar association in Asia, will hold its annual elections. Biometric voting will be used.

With a total of 27 candidates running, polling will be done on eight seats, according to election officials. Eleven polling places have been set up to help with the election process, and 15,851 registered voters are able to cast ballots.

Three candidates—Adeeb Aslam Bhunder, Shahid Jamal Butt, and Irfan Hayat Bajwa—are vying for the coveted position of president.

Chaudhry M. Mushtaq, Hafiz Mushtaq Naeemi, Sheikh Kashif Ali, Mian Tahir Munir, and Humayun Zaheer Bhatti are the five contenders for the position of vice president.

Asif Kanwal Khan, M. Naveed Hanif Kamboh, and Kashif Siddiq Gujar will compete for the Vice President Model Town seat, while Zahid Mahmood Gul and Imran Olakh will compete for the Vice President Cantt seat.

Shoaib Ashraf Bhatti, Malik Fahad Nisar Khokhar, Rizwan Arshad Bobak, and Chaudhry Afnan Munwar are the four contenders vying for the Secretary post.

Asad Abbas, Samina Basra, and Salman Raheem Khokhar are running for the position of Joint Secretary, while Yasir Nazir Padhiyar and Zohaib Khan are fighting for the position of Finance Secretary.

Five candidates—Arshad Chadhar, M. Faryad Chaudhry, Samina Khokhar, Talib Naqvi, and Nauman Ali Goraya—have applied for the position of Library Secretary. Rahila Hafeez Rana, meantime, has already been elected auditor without any opposition.

To guarantee a seamless and open election process, stringent security and administrative measures have been put in place.
