Unacceptable propaganda effort against the PM and Field Marshal: Tahir Ashrafi

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, the chairman of the Ulema Council, declared on Tuesday that the propaganda effort against Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is intolerable.

Speaking at the Istihkam-e-Pakistan Ulema-o-Mashaikh Convention in Islamabad, Tahir Ashrafi praised Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for their efforts to keep tensions in the Muslim world from rising.

He claimed that the current military and civil leadership in Pakistan has been instrumental in fostering harmony among the Muslim Ummah and furthering peace initiatives through communication and diplomacy.

He added that Pakistan’s contribution was being widely appreciated at the international level and that Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement has helped defuse tensions resulting from the Iran-Israel-US confrontation and associated regional developments.

He denounced attempts by adversaries to use propaganda, especially on social media, to disseminate false information and sow discord in Pakistani society.
