Weather is hot and muggy throughout Pakistan, with some places expecting rain.
For the next twenty-four hours, much of Pakistan is expected to experience hot, muggy conditions. Rain is expected in a few areas of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, according to the Met Department.
Rain is predicted to fall this evening in Islamabad as well.
Thunderstorms in Zhob and Qila Saifullah, Balochistan, are expected to occur. In Sindh, a few locations—Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, and Sanghar—have a chance of receiving rain.
There is an expectation of rain in many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, namely Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Battagram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Mardan, and Peshawar.
It’s going to be hot and muggy during the day in Islamabad, and this evening there might be some rain in some places.
There will likely be some cloud cover in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. In a few locations in these regions, the Met Department predicts thundershowers and high winds.
When rain and thunderstorms are approaching, residents in the impacted areas are urged to keep informed about current weather conditions and to take appropriate safety measures.
As a result of the forecast for strong thunderstorms and heavy rain in the upcoming days, especially during the Muharram period, Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a high alert throughout the province.
As per the statement provided by a PDMA representative, most areas in Punjab are anticipated to face intense rainfall and wind. Particularly from July 17 to 19, thunderstorms and a lot of rain are predicted for south Punjab.
The government has been asked to take extra measures on the 10th of Muharram (Ashura) by PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia. Because of the possibility of structural collapses during bad weather, he stressed the importance of avoiding gatherings under shaky roofs or in decaying structures.
