Weather update: Pakistan will have a monsoon rain period starting on July 3.
Lahore has welcomed relief from westerly winds as the arrival of monsoon winds has caused a substantial dip in temperature since Thursday.
As per the Met Department, this signifies the start of the monsoon season in the nation, and it is anticipated that precipitation will begin on July 3.
Shahid Abbas, the chief meteorologist, emphasized that the monsoon rains will not only relieve the extreme heat but also reduce the region’s average temperature.
The nation is currently seeing a mix of cloudy and sunny weather during the day, and this pattern is anticipated to continue in the days to come.
Weather in Lahore
The effect of the westerly winds has been felt in Lahore, where there has been a discernible drop in heat intensity. The weather in the city has started to change, with temperatures starting to drop.
As the monsoon weather trend takes hold, the Met Department predicts a possibility of rain.
Even with the dip in temperature, Lahore’s electrical supply is still problematic. There are still several places along the Main Canal Road that experience load shedding, such as Amir Town, Nai Abadi, Dharampura, and Mustafaabad.
Residents’ annoyance was exacerbated last night when a damaged transformer caused power outages throughout the city.
Karachi, a port city, is forecast to get partly overcast weather on Friday along with moderate to heavy rain, according to the Met office. According to the meteorological authority, sea breezes should return this evening because the air is 74% humid.
