Weather update: Several regions of the country are expected to have rain and snow.

Over the next few days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in different regions of the nation.
A westerly wind system has arrived in the nation and is predicted to last until January 19, according to the PMD. This weather system is predicted to become more intense starting on January 20 and to impact the majority of the nation starting on January 21.
Up till January 19, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are predicted to have sporadic rain with high winds and thunderstorms, as well as light to heavy snowfall in mountainous regions.
The Met Office added that from January 18 to 20, there is a chance of rain and snowfall in Murree, Galiyat, and the neighboring districts. Rainfall is anticipated in the districts of Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur divisions, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Murree, Galiyat, and the Potohar region, from January 20 to 23.
The majority of locations in Peshawar, Hazara, Malakand, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan divisions are also expected to see intermittent rain, strong gusts, and thunderstorms.
Heavy snowfall is predicted in Murree, Galiyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Haveli, and Rawalakot from the evening of January 20 to January 23.
On January 22 and 23, rain, strong gusts, and thunderstorms are predicted for Sindh and most of Balochistan, respectively. It is anticipated that Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Harnai, and Zhob would have moderate to severe snowfall during this time.
Because to the possibility of slick roads, poor visibility, and potential disruptions from bad weather, authorities have asked people to exercise caution, especially in hilly locations.
