Woman rescued from being shackled at a residence in DHA Karachi

The Karachi police have liberated a woman who was restrained at a residence in DHA Phase 5, Karachi.

A woman unlawfully held and shackled to a bed in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area was rescued by the police.

The police report indicates that the woman was purportedly enticed to the residence by her ex-husband under the guise of providing child support. Subsequent to her being brought indoors, he allegedly bound her with chains and absconded from the location.

Authorities reported that operations are in progress to apprehend the culprit.

Investigating officials reported that police responded to an emergency contact received on the 15th. Upon reaching the third level of the building and forcibly opening the door, the officers discovered the woman shackled within a room.

The woman rescued identified herself as Nafisa Fatima and stated that her husband’s name is Latif.

She stated that she had been restrained since approximately 9:30 AM. She stated that she has three children and that a lawsuit involving the couple is presently under judicial consideration.

The woman additionally asserted that her husband had summoned her under the guise of providing maintenance funds before confining her. Law enforcement authorities verified that the victim resides in Sheereen Jinnah Colony.
