50% of voting places are deemed sensitive or extremely sensitive by ECP.

ISLAMABAD: on the general elections scheduled on February 8, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has designated up to 50% of polling places nationwide as sensitive or very sensitive.

About 90,675 polling places were established nationwide by the ECP, of which 46,065 have been designated as “sensitive” or “most sensitive,” while 27,628 have been designated as sensitive and 18,437 as most sensitive, according to ECP sources.

About 6,040 very sensitive and 12,580 sensitive polling places are located in Punjab, whereas 6,524 highly sensitive and 6545 sensitive polling places are located in Sindh.

4,143 polling places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were designated as extremely sensitive, and 6,166 polling places were designated as sensitive.

Similarly, in Balochistan, 2,337 polling places were classified as sensitive, and 1,730 as very sensitive, leaving just 961 of the 5,028 polling places there classified as regular.
