The Sikh community is cordially welcomed to Pakistan by Maryam Nawaz.

The Sikh community travelling from all over the world to join in the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary was warmly welcomed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
“I extend a warm welcome to the Sikh community on this special occasion of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary,” the Chief Minister wrote in her message. We are happy to welcome Sikhs to Punjab, and Pakistan’s borders are open to them. She sent her warmest regards to Sikhs around the world, stating that people of all religions are still motivated by Baba Guru Nanak’s teachings on compassion, love, and humanity.
Maryam Nawaz underlined that Baba Guru Nanak dedicated his life to promoting the values of tolerance, respect for one another, and fraternity, which are the cornerstones of peaceful society. In order to foster harmony and unity among all people, Baba Guru Nanak instructed us to share each other’s happiness and sorrows, she said.
The chief minister reiterated the government’s dedication to provide equal rights and amenities to all Punjabi people, irrespective of their heritage or faith. “To make Pakistan a beacon of peace, harmony, and tolerance, we must cooperate,” she said.
Maryam Nawaz recalled her trip to Kartarpur for the Baisakhi celebration last year, calling it an emotional and unforgettable occasion. Significant preparations have been taken for the Sikh pilgrims who will be attending this year’s birth anniversary celebrations, she said. The province administration is committed to giving the visiting Sikh devotees the greatest amenities, she added, adding that “special attention has been given to the maintenance, renovation, and security of gurdwaras across Punjab.”
