Pakistan’s maritime technology draws numerous companies during PIMEC-2025.

The second Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC-2025), co-hosted by the Pakistan Navy and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, persisted for the third consecutive day at the Expo Centre on Wednesday.

Diverse national and international organizations exhibited cutting-edge maritime equipment and research models, attracting significant interest from attendees. The exhibition showcased a diverse array of contemporary defense and technology equipment, including the domestically developed “Buraq Vehicle,” engineered for the secure evacuation of individuals from battle zones.

The car, including sophisticated protective features, is wholly manufactured in Pakistan, demonstrating the country’s advancing engineering standards.

Notable departments, such as the Ministry of Defence Production, Net Med, and many institutions, established their booths at the event. The NET MED pavilion continued to be a significant draw for attendees. The Ministry of Defence Production’s exhibit emphasized the promotion of the Blue Economy and the sustainable utilization of marine resources.

The booth of the Directorate General of Research and Development (DG R&D) attracted significant visitors, showcasing contemporary defense apparatus including night vision gadgets, training guns, and sophisticated technology utilized by the Maritime Security Agency.

The Gwadar Shipyard, an essential initiative under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), was extensively showcased with a special exhibit emphasizing its importance in Pakistan’s marine advancement.

On the second day of the conference, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori attended the drone display and praised Pakistan’s export capabilities in drone technology. He stated that the maritime exhibition not only signifies collaboration in the marine sector but also showcases the nation’s advancing proficiency in domestically manufactured defense technologies.

The expo, he stated, will facilitate new investment opportunities and provide employment prospects.

The international marine exposition will finish on Thursday, with the Federal Minister for marine Affairs serving as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
