Hamid Raza, the head of SIC, was arrested and convicted on May 9.

Following his arrest, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council, was brought before the anti-terrorism court and later imprisoned.
He was brought to the jail under police protection after the Faisalabad ATC ordered his transfer.
When Sahibzada Hamid Raza was arrested by Islamabad Police, he was on his way from Peshawar to Faisalabad. The arrest was verified by Sahibzada Hasan Raza, the acting chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza, a member of the National Assembly, was previously given a 10-year prison sentence by the Faisalabad Anti-Terrorism Court in relation to the events of May 9.
Following trials on instances involving an attack on a sensitive institution and accusations brought at the Ghulam Muhammadabad Police Station, the verdict was declared on July 31, 2025. 108 people in all received different punishments.
Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, and other leaders were found guilty, although Fawad Chaudhry, Zain Qureshi, and a few others were found not guilty.
Notably, in September of this year, Sahibzada Hamid Raza resigned from his position as Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan’s secretary of information.
