At the Austrian National Day event, the commitment to strengthen bilateral ties was reaffirmed.

At a reception held here to commemorate Austrian National Day and welcome new Ambassador Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera of the Republic of Austria, the resolve to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Austria was reaffirmed.
The ceremony was attended by Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, the Federal Minister for Investment; Kamran Khan Tessori, the Governor of Sindh; Awais Qadir Shah, the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly; Consul Generals from a number of nations; and leaders from the corporate, political, diplomatic, and social spheres.
With the aim of giving relations between Pakistan and Austria a new dimension, the event, which was sponsored by Dr. Hussain Islam, Consul of Austria in Karachi, focused on bilateral cooperation, cultural linkages, and diplomatic relations.
To commemorate National Day, the Austrian ambassador and other officials cut a cake. In honor of the Republic of Austria’s 1955 declaration of sovereignty and perpetual neutrality, the 26th of October is designated as Austrian National Day.
Speaking at the event, Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera, the Austrian envoy, outlined his nation’s multilateralism, neutrality, international cooperation, and development policies. He also stated that Austria has always placed a high priority on peace, human rights, and the protection of its citizens everywhere in the world.
According to him, Pakistan and Austria have had cordial diplomatic ties for 70 years, based on respect and camaraderie in a number of areas, such as trade, investment, renewable energy, education, culture, and tourism.
He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s crucial role in maintaining regional stability and fostering positive interactions with neighboring nations. He added that Austria is eager to expand collaboration with Pakistan in areas of mutual interest, such as inclusive development, education, sustainable energy, and climate resilience.
In wishing the new Austrian envoy well, senior lawmaker Mir Aamir Khan Magsi stated that the friendly nations’ connections have grown over time. Along with highlighting the potential to increase bilateral business and people-to-people ties, he also reaffirmed his commitment to working together for further development and cooperation.
At the event, Austrian Consul Dr. Hussain Islam congratulated Austrian Ambassador Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera on his new diplomatic duties in Pakistan and expressed his hope that he would actively contribute to the development of the two nations’ bilateral ties.
