This year, the Balochistan government converted more than 27,000 agricultural tube wells to solar systems in an effort to support agriculture, education, and youth employment.

A significant step towards sustainable farming in the province, this project, which had a total cost of around Rs 55 billion, was financed 70% by the federal government and 30% by the provincial government.

The provincial government recently unveiled the Balochistan Youth Policy, a first-of-its-kind initiative that aims to give 30,000 young people work chances abroad. Over 6,000 talented young people have so far sought employment abroad, revitalising the province’s talent pool.

Education was also given a boost. With around Rs 4 billion allocated by the provincial budget, scholarships for matric, intermediate, graduation, master’s, and doctoral programs were given to deserving students under the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund.
