Pakistan and Bangladesh are thinking of starting a ferry service and a direct shipping line as part of their plans to boost trade and tourism between the two nations, according to an official statement on Wednesday.
Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, the federal minister for maritime affairs, met with Iqbal Hussain Khan, the high commissioner of Bangladesh, in Islamabad to talk about how to improve maritime cooperation and boost commercial connections.
According to the release, Chaudhry remarked, “A ferry service will greatly boost tourism and trade.”
He also said that improving maritime connections in the area will help make the economy more stable, and that a direct shipping line between the two countries would boost trade between them.
Both sides said they were committed to improving maritime cooperation and increasing trade and economic cooperation.
The statement went on to say that Chaudhry said Pakistan wished to turn its historical ties with India into a strong economic cooperation.
