Iranian petrochemical industries are the target of US and Israeli bombings

According to Iranian media, a series of attacks by the US and Israel targeted several areas in Iran, including six petrochemical plants in the southwestern province of Khuzestan. The attacks caused numerous injuries and multiple fatalities.
According to the claims, other locations in Mahshahr, Tehran, and Bushehr were also impacted.
Iranian media reported that the strikes, which targeted six significant petrochemical facilities in Khuzestan, occurred on Saturday.
The attacks resulted in at least five fatalities and 170 injuries.
Loud explosions were heard in the Special Petrochemical Zone of Mahshahr, according to the Fars news agency, which cited the deputy governor of Khuzestan.
According to reports, at least three local businesses were targeted.
Although the exact extent of the damage is still being determined, direct strikes on the factories have resulted in extensive destruction, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The injured are being transported to neighbouring hospitals after emergency crews were sent to the locations.
The explosions, along with drone-like sounds in the sky, happened at approximately 7.30 a.m. local time, according to AFP.
Meanwhile, one citizen was reportedly murdered close to the Bushehr nuclear power facility, causing panic in the neighbourhood.
Shahid Beheshti University and an adjacent research center in Tehran reportedly experienced explosions and strikes that damaged scientific and educational infrastructure.
Although the amount of any damage has not yet been confirmed, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps air defence center was also apparently struck.
The incidents are still being investigated, and Iranian authorities have not released an official statement.
