UK PM congratulates PM Shehbaz will hold peace negotiations

Keir Starmer, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, called Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday to express his gratitude for Pakistan’s successful diplomatic efforts in bringing about the US-Iran ceasefire and the restart of communication between the two warring nations.
In the phone call, he congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz on organising the peace talks in Islamabad and wished him well.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the joint statement released by important European and international leaders, including Prime Minister Starmer, supporting Pakistan’s peace initiatives and reiterated Pakistan’s genuine commitment to regional peace and stability.
Both presidents stressed the significance of maintaining the ceasefire and establishing the prerequisites for enduring peace and stability in the area.
The two leaders decided to cooperate in order to revitalise the long-standing cordial relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom in all areas of shared interest.
The prime minister reaffirmed his warm welcome for the UK counterpart to visit Pakistan on official business.
