Dar calls for a commitment to a ceasefire and claims that the US and Iran had productive talks.

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, stated on Sunday that Iran and the US have undertaken thorough and fruitful negotiations, emphasising that both countries should continue to be dedicated to a truce.

Speaking during a press conference in Islamabad, Dar expressed optimism that both nations will proceed with a constructive strategy to guarantee long-term peace and development in the area and beyond. He continued by saying that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s appeal was well received by both parties.

He praised the US and Iranian delegates for attending the discussion and underlined the significance of upholding the ceasefire promise. Dar reiterated that Pakistan would keep assisting with the negotiations.

He went on to say that Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf led the Iranian group, while Vice President JD Vance led the US delegation. The two sides engaged in several rounds of thorough and productive dialogue.

Dar continued by saying that he helped to facilitate the talks alongside high authorities, including as Field Marshal Asim Munir.
