CM Murad directs the Food Department to expedite the procurement of wheat.

Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, instructed the Food Department to expedite the province’s wheat procurement campaign on Tuesday after presiding over a meeting to assess wheat procurement for the Rabi season 2025–2026.
The CM stated that wheat should only be bought from farmers who have received subsidies and directed officials to pay particular attention to small farmers. Additionally, he mandated the rapid activation of wheat procurement centers in every region.
Murad Ali Shah stated that prompt payments to farmers must be guaranteed and that any delay in the acquisition of wheat will not be accepted.
In order to support farmers who utilise their own wheat bags (bardana), the Chief Minister additionally ordered that they be paid at the permitted amount.
He gave authorities instructions to stop stockpiling and unauthorised movement and placed a strong emphasis on efficiency and transparency in the wheat procurement process. Wheat has a support price of Rs 3,500 per 40 kg.
