A 5.5-magnitude earthquake shocks Islamabad, Peshawar, and KP

Residents in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and other places were alarmed by the earthquake’s shocks.

The seismic monitoring center reports that earthquakes were also detected in Chitral, North Waziristan, Swat, and Hangu.

Additionally, there was notable shaking in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad. According to the seismic center, the earthquake had a recorded depth of 199 kilometers and a Richter scale value of 5.5.

The Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan was the epicenter.

Many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Haripur, Malakand, Swabi, Khyber, Swat, Buner, Shangla, and Chitral, were rocked by the earthquake. In other parts of Afghanistan, tremors were also reported.

Authorities affirmed that there had been no reports of fatalities or property damage since the earthquake.
