Today is World Heritage Day.

In an effort to raise awareness of the diversity and vulnerability of cultural heritage, World Heritage Day is being honored worldwide, including in Pakistan today (Saturday).

The International Day of Monuments and Sites, or World Heritage Day, emphasizes the value of preserving historical sites, monuments, and customary legacies for coming generations.

Every year on April 18, the world celebrates World Heritage Day, which was founded by UNESCO. The day’s main goal is to increase public awareness of the value of cultural heritage and the necessity of preserving it.

“Emergency Response for Living Heritage in Contexts of Conflicts and Disasters” is the topic selected by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) for World Heritage Day in 2026.
