The Peshawar–Nowshera rail link pre-feasibility study has been approved by KP.

In order to improve urban mobility, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government approved a pre-feasibility study for a circular rail project that would connect Peshawar with Nowshera and Jehangira. The project was approved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority (KPUMA) Board of Directors at its 20th board meeting, which was presided over by the Chief Minister.
In an effort to address the province’s growing problems with urban mobility and traffic congestion, Rs 13.162 million has been set aside for the study.
The project’s budget, terms of reference, and associated expenses were also authorized by the board.
In a related development, the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology has been granted permission to engage into a consulting arrangement with the authority to support technical and planning work.
