KP and portions of Punjab were affected by heavy rain and hail.

A new round of rain and hailstorms has hit parts of Pakistan, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir.

Rain fell in Swat Valley, Karak, Malakand, Abbottabad, and Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Galiyat and Naran Valley have been a lot colder because of the snow that has fallen there.

In Neelum Valley, about 30 cars got stuck in the Sheikh Bela region because of a landslip, and tourists who were stuck were able to be freed. Overnight, rescue personnel, police, and local government transferred tourists who were in danger to safer places. But it keeps raining on and off, and landslides have shut parts of the Neelum Highway near Muzaffarabad.

It also rained in the higher parts of Ziarat Valley, Toba Achakzai, and Toba Kakari. In the meantime, a landslip at Lachi Nala has made the Karakoram Highway impassable for now.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said that more rain is on the way for the country’s northern areas. The National Disaster Management Authority has also said that several places would have a lot of rain in the next 12 to 24 hours. In mountainous areas like Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, there will be snow.

Authorities have told those who are travelling to be careful since roads may be slick and landslides could happen, especially in steep areas.
