Eleven countries, including Pakistan, denounce Israel’s diplomatic action in Somaliland.

In a joint statement, Pakistan and eleven other nations denounced Israel’s appointment of a diplomatic envoy in Somaliland.

The participating nations characterised the Israeli action as a breach of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

According to the Foreign Office, foreign ministers have made it plain that they oppose unilateral actions and have opposed any attempt to recognise Somaliland.

The statement called Israel’s action a flagrant breach of international law and reiterated full support for Somalia’s unity and sovereignty.

The statement went on to say that Pakistan and other nations pointed out violations of the African Union’s ideals and the United Nations Charter, cautioning that such acts create a risky precedent for regional peace and security.
