India’s airspace shutdown in Pakistan is in its second year.

Since the limitation has been further extended, Pakistan’s airspace has been closed to Indian flights for the past two years.

The prohibition on Indian aircraft operations has been extended by a new NOTAM issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority. The warning states that for a further month, Indian-registered, leased, commercial, and military aircraft will not be permitted to enter Pakistani airspace.

According to the NOTAM, the restriction will be in effect until May 24, 2026, at 5:00 am.

It is important to remember that on April 23, 2025, Pakistan initially barred Indian aircraft from using its airspace. Indian airlines have reportedly lost billions of rupees as a result of the ongoing closure.
