President and Prime Minister thank security personnel for their successful operation in Khyber.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday commended the security forces for eliminating 22 terrorists of Fitna Al-Khawarij during a coordinated intelligence operation in Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In distinct comments, both presidents reiterated their commitment to persist in the struggle against terrorism until its total eradication from the nation.

President Zardari asserted that terrorists were endeavouring to subvert Pakistan’s leadership initiatives aimed at establishing enduring peace in the area. The president stated, “We will eradicate terrorism and persist in our leadership role in upholding peace both regionally and globally.”

He conveyed profound sorrow on the death of a 10-year-old child during the operation and offered his condolences to the grieving family.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered condolences on the child’s martyrdom, which resulted from unprovoked gunfire by terrorists.

The prime minister unequivocally condemned the act and offered prayers for strength and patience for the bereaved family.

“The cowardly terrorists’ unprovoked gunfire, executed in a bid for self-preservation, culminating in the martyrdom of a child, constitutes an irreparable crime against humanity,” he stated.
