The Lahore court has remanded the mother, accused of murdering three children, to five days of police prison.

A lady charged with the murder of her three small children was placed in police detention for five days by a Lahore court on Friday, while detectives persist in examining the case that has stunned the local community.
The defendant, Rida Fatima, was brought before Judicial Magistrate Irshad Hussain Sabzwari at the Model Town Court amid stringent security measures. The court granted a five-day physical remand at the police’s request, who had sought a duration of 14 days for additional investigation.
The police informed the court that DNA, polygraph, and medical examinations of the defendant were essential. The investigating officer stated that the remand was necessary to finalise enquiries and elucidate all facets of the situation.
The case concerning the murder of three children in Lahore’s Ichhra district involves a five-year-old, a four-year-old, and a one-and-a-half-year-old, whose deaths have plunged the neighbourhood into sadness.
Residents regarded the episode as profoundly unsettling, asserting they had never observed such savagery. The family’s residence remained quiet, with the children’s possessions still apparent, including garments left draped on the balcony.
Neighbours reported that the children’s father, Ramzan, was outside the house during the incident, whilst the mother remained inside. A scream was reported prior to the father’s hurried return, accompanied by others from the vicinity.
The police filed a case against the mother and, following postmortem exams, released the bodies to the heirs. The youngsters were carried to their hometown of Jhang, where funeral prayers were anticipated before to burial.
Investigators stated that preliminary results suggested the accused was accountable for the homicides, however reasons and other factors were still being examined.
