Judicial commission to evaluate the transfer of five IHC judges today

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) will convene today (Tuesday) to assess the transfers of five judges from the Islamabad High Court.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will oversee the session.

Sources indicated that the meeting will deliberate on the transfers of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar, and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro. The agenda will also include the transfers of Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir.

The panel will specifically examine the transfer of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani to the Lahore High Court (LHC) and the relocation of Justice Babar Sattar to the Peshawar High Court (PHC).

The transfers of Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro to the Sindh High Court, as well as Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir’s transfer to the Balochistan High Court, will be examined.

Sources indicated that Chief Justice Yahya Afridi had earlier denied a request to convene a regular meeting regarding these moves.
