LESCO feeders malfunction during storm in Lahore

Severe winds and rainfall significantly disrupted the electrical transmission infrastructure in Punjab’s provincial capital, resulting in extensive power disruptions.

Over 200 feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) malfunctioned due to the storm, and other locations had power outages due to technical issues.

LESCO documented total electricity demand at 3,398 megawatts, whilst supply was recorded at 3,710 megawatts.

The power utility announced that the gradual restoration of impacted feeders is under progress and requested consumers’ cooperation.

A LESCO representative stated that field personnel have been alerted and feeders have been deactivated due to emergencies and fault-related problems, which will be rectified promptly.

The representative stated that crews were deployed in the field to promptly repair the impacted feeders.
