In separate confrontations with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in various districts of Punjab on Tuesday, at least nine suspects were murdered and two police officers were hurt.

Six suspects were killed in several operations in Lahore. Police said that after learning of the whereabouts of wanted thieves, a CCD team conducted a raid in the Sundar region. Two constables, Taswar and Namdar, were reportedly hurt when the suspects opened fire on the raiding party. Two suspects, later named as Alam Sher and Hashim, who were allegedly wanted in more than 60 crimes, were killed by police in retaliation.

In a another incident, two suspects, Bilal alias Mota and Danish, were being transported for the recovery of stolen goods when their accomplices attacked the police squad, according to Iqbal Town CCD officials. Both of the detained individuals were reportedly shot and murdered by their own associates during the gunfight.

Three motorcyclists allegedly opened fire in a different DHA encounter after being told to stop at a checkpoint, according to the police. Two suspects were killed by police retaliation, but a third was able to flee.

Investigations are still ongoing, and all bodies were moved to the mortuary for postmortem.
