SDMA warns of flooding in Muzaffarabad rivers

Rivers flowing from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed a substantial rise in water flow, increasing worries of flooding.

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) said the water level rise could lead to flood like circumstances.

The authorities have instructed the deputy commissioners to take adequate steps for the protection of human lives.

District administrations have been advised to limit public movement near rivers and streams, pinpoint susceptible spots and send police and administrative staff.

Besides, SDMA has also asked the rescue and other concerned departments to be alert in case of any emergency situation.
