Attaullah Tarar, with the government’s commitment to free and responsible media

On Sunday, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a “free, responsible, and vibrant media” in the country. He acknowledged the significant role that the media plays in crafting Pakistan’s worldwide narrative.

“Pakistan’s traditional media has long stood as a strong pillar of public trust and democratic values, and during Marka-e-Haq, it played a responsible and patriotic role in informing the world with balance and clarity,” the minister claimed in his message on World Press Freedom Day. “Pakistan’s traditional media has long stood as a strong pillar of public trust and democratic values.”

Additionally, he stated that “in addition to this, our media is gradually adapting to modern tools and global connectivity,” and that “digital platforms are helping to project Pakistan’s true image and potential.”

According to the minister, the government recognises the efforts of journalists and other members of the media and continues to be dedicated to the principles of media freedom, responsibility, and a more promising future for all forms of media in Pakistan.
