On May 8, Nawaz Sharif calls a meeting of the AJK Parliamentary Board.

Mian Nawaz Sharif, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has called a significant meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Parliamentary Board on May 8 in Lahore.

Mian Nawaz Sharif will preside over the meeting of the parliamentary board established for the Azad Kashmir elections in 2026, according to party sources. The PML-N Secretariat, located in 180-H Model Town, Lahore, will host the meeting at 11:00 a.m.

There will be a meeting with ticket candidates at 11:30 a.m. following the parliamentary board meeting. Attendance at the gathering is required for candidates seeking for party tickets in the Azad Kashmir elections.

According to sources, the PML-N leadership would examine candidate-related issues and electoral strategy. A thorough briefing on constituencies will also be provided by the leadership of Azad Kashmir. During the meeting, tickets for 12 refugee constituencies will be finalised and announced.

Under the direction of PML-N Azad Kashmir President Shah Ghulam Qadir, members of the Azad Kashmir Parliamentary Board, office-bearers, and ticket candidates would attend the meeting. Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, and Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister, will also serve on the board.

Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, and Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam will also be present at the meeting. The parliamentary board would also consist of Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Marriyam Aurangzeb, Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar, Pervez Rashid, Barjees Tahir, and Anusha Rehman.
