Transport fares for goods increased by 10% nationwide in Pakistan following a rise in petroleum prices.

In response to the recent surge in petroleum product prices, Pakistan Mini Mazda Goods Transport has declared a 10 percent increase in freight charges nationwide.

The Central President of Pakistan Mini Mazda Goods Transport, Haji Sher Ali Chaudhry, informed the media that fares were not raised on May 1 at the government’s request; nevertheless, the persistent escalation in diesel costs has rendered the hike inevitable.

He stated that the new tariff structure will be implemented immediately, noting that transporters are encountering significant challenges due to escalating operational costs and fuel price increases.

Public transport operators have announced a fare hike, citing that the rise in petrol and diesel prices will precipitate inflation, exacerbating the difficulties faced by already burdened consumers.
